Hulen Coker

July 30, 1941 — September 16, 2025

Arthur Hulen Coker, age 84 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Hulen was born in Gorman, TX on July 30, 1941 to Loyd and Hilma Coker and raised on the family farm near Sidney, TX. After graduating from Sidney High School, he married the love of his life, Nancy Lou Davis, not only once but twice. The first time in Mexico on February 26, 1961 with the official church ceremony on August 20, 1961. Hulen and Nancy subsequently lived in Abilene, San Antonio, Irving and finally retired back to the farm he was raised on.

Hulen was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor. As a car enthusiast, he was fortunate to enjoy a successful career in the automotive industry. He joined AMC/Jeep in 1972 as a Technical Advisor and retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2001 with 29 years of faithful service. During this time, he also dedicated numerous hours to volunteering in his community from coaching little league baseball to the Nimitz High School Booster Club. His greatest volunteer impact came from his time spent at Oak View Baptist Church. For 36 years Hulen and Nancy not only attended Oak View but also taught many different Sunday School classes, the last being the Nearly and Newly Married Class. Today many of those couples still reach out and share what a positive impact that class had on their lives and marriages. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He rarely missed attending games or activities and enjoyed traveling all over the US to spend time with those who did not live in the area.

Hulen is survived by his wife of 64 years Nancy Coker; son, Art Coker and wife MaryJo; daughter, Kathy LeFlore and husband Craig LeFlore.
