Betha Davis

Betha Louise (Capell) Davis, 94, of Comanche, Texas died Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne. The funeral will be held at 3 pm. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche, Texas with Pastor Wayne Lewis officiating. The burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Comanche, Texas.

Betha was born to Oris Desma (Red) Capell and Lottie (Littleton) Capell in Dublin, Texas on July 18, 1930. She lived in several different places during her childhood, but spent a large part of her youth in Edna Hill where she joined the Methodist Church at age 13. She married Afton R.T. Davis on January 31, 1953 in Dublin, Texas. They were married for 55 years and 11 months. Betha loved helping others. She joined the Rebekah Lodge in Comanche, Texas October 29, 1959 where she served for 60 years. She was also active in supporting her children in their activities. She served as a Boy Scout Leader for 5 years and a Camp Fire Girls leader for 9 years. She loved talking to people so although she had several jobs her favorite was when she worked as the Assistant Manager at Allsups in Comanche. She retired from there in 1995 after 13.5 years. Betha was an inspiring person. She was faithful, kind, honest, giving, and absolutely loved life. She was always up for an adventure and loved traveling all the way up to the end. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Afton Davis; daughter Nita Sue Davis; parents Oris Desma and Lottie Capell and brother O.D. Capell. She is survived by son, Louis Davis of Fort Worth, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Bethan and Dean Frailey of Kopperl, Texas and a dear granddaughter Tara Frailey of Waco, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Murphree and Burlene Brown and her husband Dale Brown and several nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed, but her love and positivity will live on in our hearts forever.
