Byron Rex Reed

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Byron Rex Reed's passing on March 26, 2026, in Sidney, Texas. Born on June 12, 1960, in Comanche, Texas, Rex was the beloved son of Ernest Grady Reed and Billie (Hicks) Reed. He spent 65 wonderful years making memories with family and friends, and he will be dearly missed.

Rex married his sweetheart, Tammi Wilson, on March 20, 1981, and together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and lots of laughter. Known as a hard worker, Rex dedicated 19 years as an assembly shop foreman in DeLeon, Texas, but his true passions lay in farming, cattle, and the great outdoors.

Anyone who knew Rex knew he had a heart for team roping, fishing, and hunting. Whether he was out with friends or spending time with his family, his laughter and kindness could light up any room.

He is survived by his sister, Sherry Ward & partner, Merrill McRimmon; brother, Randy & wife Debra Reed; brother, Dan Reed; sister, Rita & husband James Griffin; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Tammi Reed; and parents, Grady and Billie Reed.
