Christopher Michael Steelman, 54, broke free of his earthly chains to join the celebrations in Heaven on April 28th, 2025. He is the eldest son of Charles and Delores Steelman. Chris was born in Odessa, Texas June 3, 1970, and grew up in Denver City and graduated from Big Spring High School in Big Spring, Texas. He was a nomadic spirit and enjoyed travel; he even dreamed of traveling more than he had the chance to. Chris was good at working with his hands, from construction to custom carpentry and welding, he was an excellent handyman and aspired to provide disaster relief construction to storm survivors and support for the elderly. He put his God-given talents to use in his church, where he helped with cooking, building additions to the sanctuary, and even putting together parade floats. Chris enjoyed fishing and found great comfort on the water. Alcoholism steals youth, vitality, and the joy of those who love you. Chris's loss is felt by his family and his friends, and is a reminder to seek help and support when it is needed. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Douglas Steelman. Chris is survived by his son, Michael Steelman of Stephenville, daughters, Dakota Romero (Adrian Romero) of Lubbock, Abigayle Steelman, and Regan - Jo Steelman, both of Brownwood. Chris is also survived by two amazing women who gave him children, Leslie Imler (Michael & Dakota) of Big Spring and Brandi Steelman (Abigayle & Regan - Jo) of Brownwood.
