Donald J. Alderman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong rancher, passed away peacefully at the age of 87.
He was born on January 20, 1939, in Bakersfield, California, to Emmit and Tonnie Mae Alderman. He spent his formative years growing up in San Saba, Texas, where he developed the strong work ethic and values that would guide him throughout his life.
He later attended Texas Tech University, where he received an Agriculture degree and met the love of his life, Cathy Alderman. Together, they built a life rooted in their faith in God, love for one another, and devotion to family. They eventually settled in DeLeon, Texas, where he dedicated his life to farming and ranching. He was known for his faith, integrity, quick wit, and the pride he took in providing for his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and country music.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Alderman; his children, Sam Alderman and wife, Jana, and Adriona Matheus and husband, Jayson; his cherished grandchildren, Brooke Bradshaw and Samuel Alderman and fiancée, Jada; and his great-grandchildren, Brennan Bradshaw and Braxton Bradshaw.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 1st, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Comanche Funeral Home, 411 W. Grand Avenue. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m.at First United Methodist Church in DeLeon, 616 S. Houston Street. A graveside service will follow at the Alderman family place off CR 421 and Highway 16-please follow the parking attendant.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
