Donald Ray Foley

May 15, 1937 — January 31, 2026

Donald Ray Foley, age 88, went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 21, 2026, in Comanche County, Texas. A man of gentle spirit and steadfast faith, Don lived a life rooted in family, service, and the music he loved so dearly.

Born on May 15, 1937, to Eugene and Lillie Foley, Don grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and the simple joys of life. On July 22, 1973, he married the love of his life, Lemoine Virginia, with whom he shared many cherished years until her passing on August 4, 2021.

Don is survived by his sons Kyle Steward and wife Dawn of Comanche, Waylon Foley and wife Stacy of Waxahachie, and Roger Foley of Waco.

He was blessed with many grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Grandsons Keith Steward and wife Whitney of Blanket, Cash Foley of Waxahachie, Waylon Foley Jr. of Temple, Shane Alford of Waxahachie, Justin Stratton of New York, Ryan Rader and wife Sussy of Fort Worth, and Michael Fanning of Ennis, Tx.

Granddaughters Natasha Broxton and wife Dana of Georgia, Brandi Overstreet of Fort Worth, Kina Alford of Milford, and Shelly Pecot of Venus, Tx. Don also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Virginia; daughters Cherri Rader and Sharla Fife; son Kenny Foley; brother Robert Foley; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

A dedicated member of Hope Masonic Lodge and a faithful member of the Pearl Street Church of Christ, Don lived a life marked by integrity, compassion, and a quiet strength.

Throughout his life, Don worked in several professions. He began as a printer for various Texas newspapers before opening his own print shop. He later served in maintenance at Western Hills Nursing Home and eventually joined the staff at Clemons Ford Motor Company. No matter the role, Don approached his work with humility and commitment.

But above all else, music was Don's true passion. A gifted bass guitarist, he spent decades sharing his talent with others. He played alongside Durwood Strube & Texas Best, Mark Scott & Country Kinds, and performed during the DeLeon Peach and Melon Festival with Carl & Pearl Butler. Music was not only a hobby but the heartbeat of his life - his way of connecting, giving joy, and expressing his own.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Legacy Estate Long Term Care for the kindness and care shown to Don. A special thank you goes to Shephanie Stout, of whom Don lovingly said, "She's the one that takes the best care of me; she's a good one." The family also thanks Alpha Omega Hospice for their support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Comanche Food Pantry, Gateway of Hope (Comanche), or a charity of your choice.

Don Foley leaves behind a legacy of love, melody, and cherished memories. His music lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Forever Loved, Forever Remembered
"To live in the hearts of those who love is never to die."
May his music continue to echo in the memories he leaves behind.
