LaNell (Sliger) Harbour

June 17, 1958 — January 14, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris LaNell Harbour, who left us on January 14, 2026, at the age of 67 in Abilene, Texas. Born on June 17, 1958, in Brownwood, Texas to Walter Sliger and Eva Nell Layman, LaNell will be remembered for her faith, warm heart, steady strength and desire to help anyone in need.

In her younger years, Lanell found joy in the outdoors. She loved fishing, water skiing, camping, and simply being by the water whenever she could. LaNell's hands told the story of her life. She helped her parents any way she could, hauled wood when it needed hauling, and never shied away from tough jobs - even digging water wells.

LaNell spent her working years serving others as a teacher's aide and later in the home health industry, where her compassion and patience made a meaningful difference in the lives of those she cared for. She had a heart for people and a natural gift for helping others.

She cherished her relationship with her mom and sister. From conversations around the kitchen table, cooking meals and enjoying time with the grandchildren, they were a team. LaNell also loved the simple things that made her happy - a cold Dr Pepper, an oatmeal pie, and George Strait. Those little favorites brought her comfort, happiness, and will forever be a sweet reminder of her.

Beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, she will always be remembered for her sweet nature and friendly smile.

She is survived by her son, Jason Harbour & wife Megan; daughter, Terra Bradish & husband Steven; sister, Brenda Casey; grandchildren, Ariel Harbour & Cameron Biggs, and Autumn Harbour; great grandchildren, Carter Biggs; nieces and nephews, Carlton & Andrea Casey with their family Payton Casey, Blayne Casey and Kelcy Casey, Melody and Bryan Carroll with their family Chase Carroll and Denver Carroll, and Seamus Casey with his family Morgan Casey and Brendan Casey.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter Sliger and Eva Nell Layman.
