Earl Daniel Beaty

January 27, 1945 — February 6, 2026

Earl Daniel "Dan" Beaty was born in Gorman, Texas on January 27, 1945, and passed away peacefully in Dallas on February 6, 2026 at age 81.

Dan grew up in Comanche, Texas, and was the oldest of 8 siblings. Like his brothers, Dan helped his dad at Beaty's Used Cars and Trim Shop, and developed an early interest in cars and racing. He even drag raced a little in high school. After high school, he became a Chevy Certified Mechanic.

Dan married Wanda Sue Hall in 1964, and joined the Army in 1966. He was stationed in Germany, and Dan and Sue made lifelong memories there, traveling around Europe. They settled in Arlington, Texas afterward. Dan became a realtor, earning the Top Salesman award many times, and eventually opened his own real estate office. After the Texas real estate crash, Dan became a truck driver and enjoyed the open road and truck stop burritos.

Dan's lifelong love of cars and racing brought him a lot of joy. He raced cars in the 70s and 80s, and even was in a pit crew at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Over the years, he refurbished many cars and trucks, which he loved to do, and he never missed any kind of race on TV. Dan really loved music, especially classic rock, and he had a huge music collection. He bought and sold vintage music for years. Dan enjoyed spicy food, and had a great sense of humor.

Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda "Sue" Beaty, his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jeannie Beaty of Mansfield, and his grandson Mason Beaty, of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by 5 siblings and their families: Joe and Nancy Beaty of Comanche, Paul and Pat Beaty of Dublin, Ronnie and Patti Beaty of Waxahachie, Wanda Hall of Comanche, Lana and Eddie Grand of Merkel, and countless nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Annie Beaty of Comanche, sister Lou Ann Basham, brother-in-law Weldon Hall, and his brother Wayne Beaty.
