Janice Clair Holmsley

Janice Clair Holmsley passed away November 2, 2026 at the age of 90 in Comanche, Tx. Born October 23, 1936 in Lufkin, Tx, she was the beloved daughter of Marvin and Nellie Curb.

She was united in marriage to Dale Holmsley on January 13, 1953. Together the raised their three children Linda, Peggy, and Rickey.

Janice made Comanche her home in 1945 and dedicated her life to teaching. She was a graduate of Howard Payne University in Brownwood receiving both a bachelors and masters degree in education. She spent over 40 years inspiring students.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Montgomery; son, Rickey Holmsley & wife Melanie; grandchildren, Krista Cahill, Mikki Clark (Randy), Becky Mobley (Kevin), Jeremy Holmsley, Trey Holmsley, McKenna Holmsley, and Oz Holmsley; great grandchildren; Morgan Cahill, Erin Cahill, Camri Clark, Sarah Mobley, Kevin Mobley Jr, Rocky Holmsley, and Annie Holmsley; one great-great grandchild, Vonnie Cahill; brothers, Neal Brewington and Carl Brewington.

Janice is preceded in death her parents, Marvin and Nellie Curb; husband Dale Holmsley; daughter, Linda Blackmon; great grandson, Caden Clark; and sisters, Sue Langley & Annie Curb.
