Jessie Obie Damron Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessie Obie Damron Jr., who left us peacefully at the age of 81 on August 29, 2026, at his home in Sidney, Texas. Born on August 11, 1945, in Clifton, Texas, to Jessie Obie Damron Sr. and Virginia (Defoor) Damron, Jessie lived a life filled with love for his family and the simple joys that made life special.

Jessie was a true fan of the classics, especially when it came to Western movies featuring icons like John Wayne. In his younger days, he enjoyed swimming, hunting, and even skipping school - a testament to his free-spirited nature! Above all, he cherished his family deeply and would do anything for them. In his later years, Jessie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, finding comfort and strength in his faith.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Damron; children, Lois, Jessie, Amanda, Daniel, Khristy, Scott, Lee & Elizabeth; grandchildren, Cole, Lance, Dalton, Marissa, Jarrett, Keenga, Taite, Ashley, Logan, Caleb, Ian, Colin, Ethan, Lexi, Andrew, and Tanesha; 13 great grandchildren; and brother, Earnest Damron.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Sr. and Virginia Damron; and brother, Tommy (Tom) Damron.
