Linda Norwood

Linda Elaine Norwood, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, surrounded by family in Comanche, Texas. She was born on August 23, 1948, to Arthur James and Edna (Anderson) Thornal in Corpus Christi, Texas.

A proud homemaker, Linda's greatest joys came from spending time with her loved ones. She had a passion for bingo, arts and crafts, and was often the go-to family nurse. Her faith as a Christian was unwavering, and she cherished every holiday spent with her family. Linda was a devoted wife to her husband of 53 years, Donny Norwood, and their bond was a beautiful testament to love and partnership.

She is survived by her husband, Donny Norwood; daughter, Debra Clark; son, James Shipman; grandchildren, Matthew Shipman, Zachery Shipman, Mylia Self, Bianna Shipman; great-grandchildren, TJ Rutland, Payton Rutland, Makayla Locke, and Blayden Locke; nieces, Dena Escobar, Michelle Velazquez, Wendy Hibbitts, Brandy Clibbens, Alicia Erichsen, and Caitlin Thornal; nephew, Shayne Satterwhite; sisters, Sue Tompkins and Ava Thornal.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur James Thornal and Edna (Anderson) Thornal; brother, Eddie Wayne Cooper; sisters, Donna Thornal and Chrystal Wilder.
