Joe Evans

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Randle Joseph Evans, lovingly known as Joe, who left us on August 22, 2026, at the age of 71 in Hasse, Texas. Joe was born on December 16, 1954, in Houston to Joseph Oral Evans and Faye (LaGrone) Evans.

Joe was a proud graduate of Tarleton State University, class of 1981, and went on to run Evans Trucking for many years. He was the kind of guy who could light up a room with his gentle spirit. Whether he was out in the fields with his beloved John Deere tractors or dancing on the weekends, Joe knew how to enjoy life. He had a deep love for farming, caring for his cattle, spending time with his family, and being a Papaw to his granddaughters. His passion for antique tractors was well-known, but nothing compared to his knack for "piddling" around , earning him the affectionate nickname, Slow-Mo Joe.

He is survived by his wife, Katrina Smith; daughter, Jodi Schuman & husband Luke; sons, Jason Evans & wife Tiffany, Mikey Phillips & wife Teresa, Richard Phillips & wife Lillie, Aaron Spells & wife Karina, and Cam'ron Spells; granddaughters, Maeley, Addyson, Paisyn, Lani, Landri, and Lawsyn; and cousins, Claudia, Sue, and Diane.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Faye; and sister, Linda Nell Evans.
