Rubie Haile

Rubie Hertha Haile, 85, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Rubie was born on August 5, 1940, in Priddy, Texas, to Otto and Helen Kunkel. Baptized as an infant and confirmed on June 26, 1955, at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy, her faith remained the foundation of her life. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church for more than 70 years, serving with a joyful heart wherever she was needed.

On January 14, 1961, she married the love of her life, John Haile. Together they shared a loving marriage and raised two sons, David and Stephen.

Rubie dedicated more than 40 years to Durham Pecan in Comanche, where she was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and willingness to help others.

Her greatest joy was her family. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Whether you stopped by for a visit or stayed for a meal, you were always greeted with love, laughter, and something good to eat. She loved putting together puzzles, baking, and spending time with the people she loved. Her kitchen was the heart of her home. Whether she was making her famous fried chicken, baking pumpkin rolls and pecan pies, or keeping a bowl of peanut M&Ms on the table, she made everyone who walked through her door feel loved and welcome. The love she poured into her home created memories her family will cherish forever.

She is survived by her sons, David Haile and wife Melanie of Comanche, Texas, and Stephen Haile and wife Shantha of Johnson City, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Malaena Haile and wife Morgan Hathcock, Mallory Iregbu and husband Eche Iregbu, Ian Haile, Patrick Haile and Jen Kerwin, Chris Rodriguez, and Ethan Rodriguez; her ten beloved great grandchildren, Zaylee, Emry, Prince, Olivia, Jace, Madden, Arlo, Ledger, Josiah, and Elijah; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Haile; her parents, Otto and Helen Kunkel; her brothers, Clyde, Paul, Alfred, and Rudy Kunkel; and her sisters, Martha Pool and Elizabeth Tyson.
