Von Henry Moore

Von Henry Moore, 68, passed away in Abilene, TX on Aug. 25, 2026. Born Aug. 12, 1958 in Midland, he grew up primarily in Fort Worth, TX. He spent his career working as an auto mechanic, and moved to Comanche County near Proctor Lake about 5 years ago from a site along the Brazos River near Morgan, TX.

An avid outdoorsman, Von found joy in camping and being immersed in nature. He had a deep caring heart, and a soft spot for animals, leaving behind his beloved dogs "Shake" and "Piddle".

Survivors include his father, George H. Moore (wife Andrea) of Granbury, TX; his mother, Donna P. Moore, of Pensacola, FL; his brother Hans J. Moore (wife Alice), of Potomac, MD., and sister, Sonya L. Moore, of Pensacola. His half-brothers, Alan G. Moore of Watauga, TX, and Evan L. Moore (wife Alijana) of Salt Lake City, UT, also survive him. He was predeceased by his sisters Trudy G. Moore and Anna K. Moore. Other survivors are a niece, Anna K. Rush; 5 nephews: G. Andrew Blackburn, Benjamin and Zachary Moore, Kristopher Rush, and Alan's son Adam; and a great-nephew, Rigel Blackburn.

No services are currently planned. The Moore family wishes to express thanks to his friends at Lakeside RV Park who kindly looked after him, as well as his dogs, in his final days.
