Katrina was born in Brownwood, Texas. She was raised in Sidney, but graduated from Comanche High School in 1997. Katrina has been a part of the Comanche Funeral Home team for 10 years. She has two grown children, Aaron and Cam'ron Spells.  She is a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Comanche. Katrina considers her greatest role in life to be able to serve and show compassion while working for Comanche Funeral Home.


James R. Fine
Funeral Director/Embalmer

James joined our Comanche Funeral Home team in October 2022. A licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1985.  Originally from San Antonio where he completed high school, he received his professional training from the San Antonio College Mortuary Science Program. He has many years of experience with funeral homes in San Antonio, Kingsville, Livingston, Waco and, since 1996, with Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors,  Hillsboro/Whitney. He is a member of the Church of Christ and enjoys singing, history and classic Cadillacs.  


 Aaron D. Spells
Provisional Funeral Director/Provisional Embalmer

Aaron Spells was born in Abilene, Texas, but moved to Comanche at an early age. He attended  his schooling thru Comanche ISD and graduated in 2016. He then attended Angelo State University before changing course and attending the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services. He graduated  in the fall of 2022.  He resides in Comanche with his  girlfriend, Karina Esquivel Lopez.

Harold Higginbotham
Funeral Assistant

Harold has been an active part of the community for many years. He has served on the Comanche ISD school board, been Manager of Brookshire's, and serves as the Pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He is married to Amanda Higginbotham; has two grown children, Jaime Aleman and husband, Sean, and Trevor; and two grandsons, Carter and Scottie. He is here to help and serve during your time of need.

Sandra was born in Eden, Texas. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1983 and from Central Texas Commercial College in 1985. In 1986, Sandra moved to Comanche and married , Jesse Garcia. They have four grown children, Zenaida, Chance and wife Jaycee, Andrew and Moses and wife Kolbey. She also has five grandchildren  Bronson, Lorali, Nicholas, Jasper and Caroline. Her grandchildren bring her the greatest joy. Sandra works full-time for the Comanche Central Appraisal District as the Deputy Chief Appraiser. Mrs. Garcia works every other weekend at Comanche Funeral Home preparing obituaries, register books, memorial folders, assisting with funerals and numerous other duties. She has been working part-time at Comanche Funeral Home since February 2009. She is a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church in Comanche. Sandra considers her greatest role in life is to be able to serve and show compassion while working for Comanche Funeral Home.


Tommy Diaz
Night Receptionist

Tommy assists with funeral services and works as a night receptionist. He was born and raised in Comanche and has lived here all of his life. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Comanche Where he serves as a Deacon. Tommy works full time for Comanche National Bank.  

Zanetta Crim

Zanetta was born in Comanche County, Texas, and graduated from Sidney High School. For many years she worked at Comanche National Bank. She began working part time at Comanche Funeral Home in 2002 and later worked every other weekend at the funeral home for approximately six years. She went to work full time at the Courthouse in the office of the Justice of the Peace until she retired in 2014. Zanetta always loved being around people, which prompted her to come back to Comanche Funeral Home where she assists with funerals and helps out in the evenings.


Verganna Halbrook

Verganna was born and raised in Ranger, Texas. She worked in banking for 30 years before retiring. She has been working with Comanche Funeral Home since October of 2021. Verganna has been married to Don for 53 years. Together, they have one son, Brandon, and four grandchildren. Verganna and her husband are very active in their church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church in De Leon, Texas.
